I’m guessing your mystery man is the Village Voice writer J. Hoberman…

I wonder if the lawyer named Howard Meyer, whom the Argosy card describes as a “constitutional attorney”, is Howard N. Meyer. He wrote a book on the 14th Amendment in the 1970s and had been a Special Assistant to US Attorney General Francis Biddle (who held that position during WWII).

This an incredible document.. just to see someone wrestle with herself like this, with absolutely no self-awareness… it’s remarkable. Thanks for sharing. Love the Argosy shout out too. That’s a really special place

I was struck by this during the episode on Decter and reminded again today in reading the letter: her position is completely emotivist. She "feels" (with increasing intensity), she "felt"; they will "suffer"; they will "hate themselves more." And she asserts her consequentialist claims with no evidence--or in the face of massive counter-evidence. I don't think this is unique to her, among her neo-con confreres.
